NB Textile Art

Naomi is inspired by the philosophy of celebrating the beauty of throwaway items and creating something of aesthetic value. She works largely with reclaimed items, transforming them into beautiful objects, whilst valuing their original workmanship. Many of the items used will look familiar and spark memories of the past. Through the use of everyday found objects personal memories are rediscovered, re-imagined and reinvented. Birds are often placed looking out on life with a sense of innocence and humour.
Naomi has a degree in Textiles from Bath College, a Dip HE in Stitched Textiles from Windsor College and a City and Guilds Diploma in Creative Embroidery from Guildford College. She also studied a mentored course at Windsor School of Textile Art at South Hill Arts Centre and has been a member of Ochre Print Studio, Guildford, still enjoying courses there when time permits.
Naomi is qualified to teach both children and adults.
Naomi is a member of the Society of Designer Craftsmen (MSDC) , Surrey Artists Open Studios and The Wisley Gallery RHS.
