I am a textile and mixed media artist using preloved largely domestic items and looking at the sunny side of life. My love of humour, social history, textiles, cookery, and nature combine in my 3D and wall art pieces.

My childhood in the 1960’s and 70’s Devon and Cornwall has influenced my art and given me an appreciation of vintage domestic items and local wildlife.

My degree, many years ago, was in textiles but I have also worked with food so love using kitchenalia as an integral part of quirky, characterful birds, fish, and other familiar animals.  Bird’s feet for example, are often formed using sugar tongs and cake forks.

Now living in Surrey, I spend a lot of time walking locally and watching the beautiful birds.

Needle felting using pure British wool and scraps from dressmaking classes with hand stitch form my "reel birds" on vintage wooden cotton reels. Other familiar garden, woodland and seaside birds are formed using either painted or needle felted fabric and upcycled cutlery.
